Waterwheel Historic Trust Trading as Waterwheel Heritage Park

The Waterwheel Historic Trust is a non profit, volunteer run organisation dedicated to collecting, preserving, restoring and presenting historic social, agricultural and horticultural technology of significance to the Kawerau and Eastern Bay of Plenty region, through the provision of a first class educational and tourist attraction for the benefit of the Kawerau community and its visitors from New Zealand and overseas.
KEA is involved as a supporting partner as we believe there are long term benefits to Kawerau and the wider Eastern Bay from:
- training and development
- providing a tourist attraction
- finding a permanent home for a large collection of historical items
KEA provides administrative and secretarial support to the Trust as well as storage and display facilities in Kawerau.
Work on this project meets one of KEA’s Key Strategies to support Current ongoing ventures and act as brokers of new ventures to encourage inward investment and reinvestment.
